Personality
Wen Qing is a master healer and cultivator (a Taoist magic-user). She is bold and forthright in manner and skilled enough in courtly etiquette to not cause offense, or deflect if she does. She has learned how to survive in a violent tyrant’s household and yet still has managed to keep her core belief that every kindness must be repaid. She also has maintained a compassionate heart and a true desire to alleviate the suffering of others through the healing arts. She is intelligent, crafty, and instinctively kind, but has learned to be pragmatic and cautious so as to not risk herself or her brother (this comes more from living in a dangerous situation than selfishness). She truly sees herself as the head of all that remains of her birth clan and tries her best to care for them, she is just not able to do much aside from keeping them alive.
For all her good graces, she can be a bit of a bully if a patient is being difficult. She has been known to poke wounds in those who try to ignore them or pass them off as minor, or use acupuncture to inhibit the movement of a patient or even use her cultivation powers to put them to sleep. (OK, those last two weren't with a patient but he was mule headed and wouldn't let her do what she needed to do.)
Description
Wen Qing has a very cultured and graceful air about her. She has a definite sense of gravitas and is winsome of build. She stands about 5’5” (168cm) tall and has dark brown hair and eyes. Her smiles can be rare but are very warm things.
Abilities
Wen Qing excels both in traditional Chinese medicine (herbology, acupuncture, etc.) and in using Cultivation to heal. She can use her cultivation to influence bodily functions, such as speeding up healing, putting a patient to sleep, or detecting poisons. (Exactly what her cultivation can do will be up to the muns involved. The show is vague about what she can do with physical injuries.)
Having grown up in one of the greater cultivator Clans, Wen Qing is an expert at the courtly arts; music, dancing, poetry, calligraphy, etc.
She is also skilled with a sword and in fighting spiritual monsters and angry spirits.
History
Wen Qing has lived her life in the shadow of ill-fortune and fear. At an early age, she lost her clan to a spiritual disaster, losing everyone but her brother. The two were taken in by the power-hungry Qishan Wen Sect and the two have lived with them ever since. Due to her brother's exposure to the spiritual disaster, Wen Qing focused her learning and development to the healing arts and has now become one of the strongest and most accomplished healers. This talent has proven to be a great tool in her and her brother's survival within the Qishan Wen Sect, as the leader, Wen Rouhan, values Wen Qing's skills as his thirst for spiritual power and dominance have taken to dark paths and which cause a serious toll on his body.
Being a power-hungry tyrant, Wen Rouhan of course brings ruin down on the Qichan Wen sect and all of the Wen clan when the other clans finally have enough of his conquests and strike back. What few Wen's survived the war ended up as prisoners and are treated cruelly. Wen Qing somehow escaped capture and spent some weeks wandering as a beggar seeking any word of her brother until she stumbles across Wei Wuxian, a fellow cultivator, and friend to her brother Wen Ning.
Wei Wuxian, upon hearing her story agrees to help her find Wen Ning and they end up freeing about fifteen of her clan members. Unfortunately, Wen Ning had already been killed. In a rage over this and how the prisoners were being treated, Wei Wuxian raises Wen Ning from the dead and directs him to attack the prison guards before leading the clan to the Burial Mounds, a cursed area of forest which no one sane would enter, let alone live. He also promises to restore Wen Ning's spirit to his body, rather than leaving him as an undead puppet. After some months, he accomplishes this with the help of Lan Wangji and the clan begins to make a home in the cursed Burial Mounds.
Canon Point
Wen Qing will be coming in from her time at the Burial Mounds. I will update when she has moved to other parts of canon.
Wen Qing is from The Untamed, and is the property of Tencent. They appear here solely for the purpose of role-playing in
